The most complex model we actually understand. ‼️
Another data point on the debate of whether or not deep models understand or regurgitate.
-
TurboDiffusion - speeding up video generation. 🧐
AFAIU, this is not per-se a single new technique, but a mix of state of the art methods combined to yield a significant gain. Interesting example of how models can be optimized today!
-
Reimplementing FlashAttention. 🧐
Another interesting example of performance optimization of ML models, again, not novel stuff, but great for someone like me who's still a n00b when it comes to genAI.

Apple's Sharp-ML. ‼️
Apple model for 2d->3d (gaussian splatting, not a full 3d scene, but enabling view synthesis around the original photo POV). Great, both because it's state of the art, and because it signals Apple understands that their best bet for AR/VR is to record and replay immersive photos/videos (memories).

MeshSplatting.
Not the first variant of Gaussian Splatting that enforces the concept of surfaces over volumetric splats, 2dgs did the same, but this adds the enforcement of topology to yield a "conventional" triangle mesh. I'm persuaded that there are many similar ideas along these lines, using first more degrees of freedom to gradient descent gracefully, and then imposing more constraints on the representation to gradually remove them. I'm quite sure that similar techniques can be used also to de-light and force splatting to be more similar to photogrammetry, especially knowing that ML models can be trained to understand the structure behind images.
Miscellanea.

#rtr State of GPU hardware feature support (for graphics).
Great work. Imho a bit optimistic on what % of users people can afford to lose to a minspec today, but good analysis.
