How do I leave a comment?
You don't.

TL;DR: I'm reachable/active on Mastodon, Twitter and e-mail.

I realized, with a decade+ of experience blogging, that the quality of discussion I get in blog comments is not worth the hassle of fighting spam and propping up a platform for them.

Most interactions with my writing happend on other platforms, twitter, slack, reddit, y-combinator etc. I don't expect this to change.

Moreover, comment permanence seems irrelevant: I incorporate corrections and insights directly in the articles, when needed, and the general engagement around an article happens mostly in a short window after I post it. Again, such kind of discussion seems best served by the exiting social media platforms.

That said...

Letters to the editor.

If you want to send me some thoughtful private comments I would love to hear from you! If we have a good discussion, I might also ask the permission to have it published on an article as an update, to engage with the rest of the internet.

I don't have the address written down on the blog anywhere - but I have an account at gmail which will be trivial to guess if you try...

Hope to hear from you,
Angelo.

Appendix: a future that will never happen.

If one day I were to implement comments on this blog (yeah, will never happen), I'd like to think they would be different, more creative.

Threads of comments on websites seem to be designed for shallow thought and fast "engagement". Good discussions, where they happen, are only due to the work of virtuous moderators (e.g. I like these guidelines)

I'd like something different. Maybe I should allow comments only in the form of vandalic graffitis on the page, to be left in virtual ink.
