Sadly, it's untextured. And the provided wavefront export is poo so i've uploaded a triangulated export from the 3DS version to the vault: [LINK http://ompf.org/vault/howardb_room_export.tar.bz2]

It's far from perfect but usable.

Note to windows users, winrar knows about tar & bzip2.

Hey  people I’ve put together a texture pack of the ones used in my reel you can use. Also I have made a 3ds file,  only the newly created one has some issues with the uv maps, I’ll see about fixing that later.  Also tbp I opened up the file you made in maya and it seems to have a lot of problems with object placement

Hello Bryan,

my post was a bit terse, it was referenced from another thread about kd-tree construction, and i really should have made it clearer that your scene is really nice and presents some challenges for those trying to partition - and then render - efficiently. There's not many non trivial interesting scenes on the net.

Most of our 'engines'  on this forum, or better said mine, are triangle based. That's why i was mumbling about triangulation & formats.

I have noticed some issues with my initial export, but most of the geometry inside the room was kinda ok and that was good enough to exercise my kd-tree builder.

I'd apreciate to be able to render it proper though [SMILEY Wink]

I'll check what it gives with those new files.

Thanks again.

EDIT: I wonder how you've landed in this obscure bit of the net. As you sit on the other side of the fence, i'll venture into asking you if by any chance you'd have more content to share; we're struggling to keep our data crunchers from starvation.

I was referred by someone that sent me a link actually but I did find this forum a couple days before… normally I can tell who’s downloading what by looking at the traffic logs  I get to my site, that’s the easiest way.  Don’t worry about your comments, Its good to know how well these files export out of Maya,   I just wish .ma was more widely used file format then .3ds/.max  [SMILEY Smile]  I do have some more content I can show in the future when I get things organized and uploaded.
