Well, it's not that bad.

Things that bother me a bit

About 100-150px of wasted space on the sides. I don't need to have two dark and light gray bars on either side. Screen space is for using, not wasting [SMILEY Wink]

writing this post I see that in the thread preview the author and message titles are almost unreadable on that background. Everywhere else its seems to be OK.

Background is way too bright. My roomate won't be happy if I yet again read the forums at 3 a.m with the room fully lit by two CRT's. Darker background would probably let him sleep a bit better.Also the current banner in the top doesn't really say anything about the forum but it won't bother me since I'll probably adblock it anyawy [SMILEY Razz]

The biggest problem is the bright white bacground. I might start a war about it. I also have a backup plan that involves creating a custom CSS when I see that the enemy is too powerful (or lazy) so in any case, I'll win [SMILEY Twisted Evil]

What I do like is the new icon theme and bigger reply box. At least I think its bigger.

What I would like to see in the future is code box with decent syntax highligting.

I like the new style (although the autist in me hates (the) change), but I really feel we should do something about the banner/logo. Can't we put something in there that (in graphics and/or text) represents what we're doing here?

Yeah, just make it orange and put it up. Perhaps stretch it a bit. Sphereflakes are widely associated with ray tracing I think.

By the way, I was used to pressing the ompf.org forum link at the top or the bottom of the screen several times a day to refresh the forum contents. The link at the bottom is now gone, which is not optimal (i.e., it doesn't match my carefully trained clicking behaviour). Would it be possible to add an 'auto refresh' to the forum, so that I wouldn't have to hit F5 / click a link at all?

I've forgot to say that in my tweaking frenzy, i've bumped avatar's quota a bit. Initially i didn't put much attention into it, so there was the default 80x80/6K limit. It's now 128x128/16K. It's arbitrary, but i think (without having that tested of course) that 128 pixels should fit in the space already allocated to names etc.. so we won't waste anymore space doing that.

fix the iqc typo.

I was very tempted to go the way of the sunglasses, but there was one big improvement over the old board -- there is a bug in Safari that the old board triggered which this doesn't [SMILEY Very Happy]

At home I use only konqueror and it never gave me any troubles. Must have been Safaris bug [SMILEY Smile]

Oh, and thanks for the image. I'll probably not go that extreme since I still would like to see the inline images. Perhaps black text on light gray or something.
