(L) [2006/08/04] [Phantom] [Anonymous posting] Wayback!I'll wait one more day for a reply from tbp, as this board is running on his server. After that, I'll turn off anonymous posting. The stupid posts in some of the core threads are too much.

(L) [2006/08/04] [Phantom] [Anonymous posting] Wayback!Anonymous posting has been disabled for all forums. Sorry about that, but I had to remove 6 or so new 'topics' a day, and now the spammers where also invading the more important forums.

(L) [2006/08/05] [Lynx] [Anonymous posting] Wayback!yea it's sad how the web gets more and more spammed...i don't even want to know the percentage of traffic caused by all kind of spam, be it emails, forum or IRC spambots, unwanted popups etc...all the filters really only stop a part of that traffic.
But there must even be bots that can register automatically to boards (unless there are really people doing this by hand), and it even happens in forums with "captchas", although admittedly most of them are a bad joke, making it harder for humans that machines [SMILEY Smile]
Lots of those appeared on yafray.org, and now also on pbrt.org, and those guys seem to cleanup rather infrequently...
-edit-
oh heh apparently those guys are even smarter, they let humans solve the captcha e.g. those who want to visit sites (preferably porn), which don't know that in reality they just enable access for a spam bot...nasty
