Moving ompf2 to a new host back

Hi all,

For the past couple of years, ompf2 was kindly hosted on the servers of the NHTV university of applied sciences, even after I moved to a different university. About a year ago, we had to disable outgoing email for the board, as it was generating spam. This effectively means that new users can no longer register. The spam problem is caused by running an old version of PHPBB (3.1.9), but sadly updating on the NHTV servers is not really an option.

Considering the developments in ray tracing, this is an undesirable situation. This morning I therefore signed up for professional hosting, installed PHPBB 3.2.5 and initiated the transfer of the ompf2.com domain. Right now this transfer is in progress. As soon as this has been completed, the ompf2.com database will be backuped on the old server and restored on the new one. This should be painless, but it is a move from one version to another, so there may be complications.

Once we're up and running on the new server, emailing will be enabled and we shoulld be able to welcome new visitors.

Quick update:
For some reason we are still on the old host. I am investigating what went wrong; the promised 5 days have passed.

Another quick update:

The previous registrar blocked the move without providing a reason. This has been resolved yesterday; "Instra Corporation" acknowledged the request and will carry it out on March 24. That's on a Sunday; I plan to move the website on Monday 25.

It looks like we arrived on the new host! I succesfully installed phpBB 3.2.5. This is newer than what we ran before, and, importantly, a completely vanilla install, so future updates will be painless (fingers crossed). Board is still disabled, until I have researched all the security features.
